Yes, that is a direct replacement for the factory paper filter. It is legal and will never need to be replaced. It will however need a cleaning every so often.

Filters are rarely the cause of performance loss in cars...It's the design of the intake that is restrictive. Can a K&N Filter Flow more than a stock filter? probably. But will the engine really be able to use more air? Probably not because the rest of the intake is the cause of the restriction.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

That is rarely the case. Good example, Ford GT500. A drop in filter is worth a ton of power.

Yes you will gain more power from a redesigned intake but 90% of the time you will gain more from a stock intake tube w/ k&n filter compared to a stock paper filter with an aftermarket intake tube. That goes double

How abt a stainless steel filter. Direct fit for aveo. No cleaning kit required. Just need to air gun blow it every time you take it out to clean. Long term saving. Better flow rate (better performance) than paper or cloth type filter.

It also will not catch as much dirt and crap as a regular filter.

i think you guys would be surprised at the allowances for dirt engines have.
i am not talking about rocks or stones, or dust storms. but the "steady" amount of dirt like you would pick up on the road won't hurt our engines as long as it is small enough to pass through the valve opening, not get crushed in the compression stroke, and past through the exhaust valve. the cat now also. so technically only things bigger than that is all your filter needs to stop.

the filter isnt a hepa filter, and it isn't supposed to make the air in the cylinder sterile..
