Looks like I better get the credit card out and the welder. Has anyone had any luck with the cai kits from chromeintakes off eBay? They have one for 65.00 shipped that looked good.

You could always do a muffler delete, there have been a couple of people including myself who took off the muffler and had a muffler shop weld up a pipe and flange to fit where the muffler used to be. The stock muffler is very restrictive and without it the car has a better flow and sound. total cost maybe 60 bucks. Thats if you want to go cheap. And there have been massive write-ups on the chromeintakes CAI's on this site. people love them and have recommended them to everyone, better than getting an AEM for almost 4X the price.
I'm ordering parts today then. Cai from chromeintakes and some kind of muffler. I will take themuffler out and if I like it I will send the muffler back.
Got a cai ordered ....... 50 bucks shipped. I talked to my local speed shop and they gave me a quote for 200 bucks. It includes 2 inch mandrel bent pipe with a flowmaster muffler. I'm starting to get excited now! Any other performance suggestions?

based on your year, i would get a underdrive/lightweight pulley next.
Then you could add a header, fill your engine mounts to help with "launch" control. Then you can look into / assess you ability and start to port match, edge the throttle body, etc.
Then look into lighter wheels, better tires, less weight in the car in general.
I have looked at the underdrive pulley. How much difference are we talking by switching it out? Is it a noticeable difference?
Turbo Tech Racing Solid Upper Engine Mount Chevy Cruze 1.4L Turbo - Drivetrain - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC Here's the engine mount. On the site they have the exhaust....Would this work Rabbit?
it looks "close" ratchet... I would need to have the measurements between the two.
the thing about multi drivetrain platforms. is even though the 1.4t fits in the AVEO, they might use different mounts to mate to the engine.. If it works on the 1.8 engine as well it would be 90% likely it would work in the aveo.
So I visited another exhaust shop and they are putting a custom 2 inch mandrel bent exhaust with a magnaflow XL muffler and an exhaust tip for a whopping 150 bucks. Hows that for a deal! It will be installed Friday morning.
After looking at some Cruze pics, I noticed the intake manifold is on the left side of the engine, where as Ours are on the right. I'm gonna have to look at a 1.8L and see. Man I wish I worked at Chevy as opposed to GMC Buick.
