M32 6 speed Cruze manual transmission fits!!

Yes you heard correctly, the 6 speed manual transmission that comes in the new Chevy Cruze fits the engines we have, basically all the engines from Opel/Vauxhall family.

The bell housing bolt holes align with ours, so any1 looking into a performance 6 speed transmission, there should be a ton available in a year or two at junkyards!

I'm quite exited myself because i was worried to blow the d20 in mine if i upped the boost too much, but with the M32 (this is the code for the 6 speed in the Cruze) it seems to be as strong if not stronger then the F28. It's also a cable shift system instead of a mechanical linkage, much better!

Forged internals in my 2.0 @ 18-20 psi anyone? 300+ whp Aveo HAHA!

Here is the post found on daewootech made by Chris (PrecisionBoost)

"I was trying to find out more on the Chevrolet Cruze ( which is now available here in my country Canada ) and I found out that the standard 6spd gearbox is the M32!!

Now you might say "so what" but the key here is that I already imported an M32 from an Astra VXR and can confirm that it will fit all Daewoo applications

So anyone looking for a stronger gearbox can upgrated to the new M32 gearbox, quaife makes an LSD and it's cable shift instead of the old troublesome mechanical linkage."

      More info:

"Here is the article showing the M32 (from the back side) and the front side of the 6 spd automatic showing the mounting pattern that is the same as our Getrag D16/D20/F16/F20/F28

I don't think the manual will be as available as you're making it seem. the 6 speed is only available on the base model N/A 1.8L, and as we all should know, Automatics reign king in the USA. finding a totaled manual is gonna be harder than you think. If it were me, I'd stop wasting my time and buy a new 6 speed from the dealer.

For you maybe, but here in Canada, the base model comes with the 6 speed manual, there are a few Cruze's at my local dealer and 3/4's of them have the 6 speed manual gearbox

most of them in the US are 1.4L Turbo's, which are 6 speed automatic only, and when I do see a 1.8L N/A over here, 95% of the time, it has the optional 6 speed automatic. I can't stand how lazy people are. And when you ask them why not a manual, they usually ask what the point of a manual is "when automatics are better in every way" or say that they never learned to drive a manual. It's just 1 more pedal. It took me only 30 minutes to learn manual. In a pick up truck. With a craptastic transmission. I find manuals fun and will take a manual over an auto any day.... and a CVT over an auto, but a manual over a CVT.
-rant about America's hatred of manual transmissions over.

thats because the us is stupid..

"According to GMI sources manual equipped Cruze models are occasionally rolling down the line in Lordstown, OH now for testing purposes. Production of manual Cruze's is slated to begin in mid-December or January, so don't expect to see any on dealer lots until closer to spring 2011."

the article is talking about 1.4t cars, but that was a blanket statement. gm and many car companies feel us drivers dont want manual cars.

nemasys, can you or anyone in canada check the vin # on those cruzes up there when you get a chance wondering what canada got if it starts with a k or a 1..
