Back to the 6 speed, that should be able to extend the Aveo's MPG/top speed quite a bit...

a lot of flaming here, rabbit, I want this tranny
Everyone ready for this, I guarantee you are going to jump out of you seat with joy. Check on rockauto.com. 2011 Cruze trannys are now available for purchase from GM and yes this is the 6 speed. wahoooooooo!!!!!!!! :-} I e-mailed one of the rockauto reps for the midwest and he said that within a couple weeks they will also have the 1.4L engine for purchasing also. Remember if you buy from rockauto they are able to transfer the 36000mile 3 year gm warranty because they buy straight from GM. Not the 100000 mile warrenty but at least it is something. I cannot wait until Christmas break because hopefully there will be a 1.4L with a sexy 6 speed tranny in my garage ready to go in my 2008 aveo.
Did you see a price?
their catalog has it listed, but when you click on it, a bunch of little parts show up and it's not the whole transmission. However, I do expect them to have it up soon. Rockauto is usually on top of things and has earned my repeat business.

lol, i hope you know what you are getting yourself into buddy, if you think the engine will drop in without any problems you have it coming thats for sure. no one has ever tested this gearbox in their cars, sure it bolts up, but you will need a custom mount and possibly custom axles as well, which in turn you would need to modify your spindles to accept the new axle shafts, alot of work for just the gearbox, the engine isnt mounted yet... you will need the full wiring harness with ecu, custom exhaust work done, the engine mounts might need some work, electronics to make the gauges and everything else work properly...
i've seen your kind come and go over the years, seeing this is your 1st post on this forum and you come out with an outrageous project like that, im waving the bull**** flag on that... plus who in their right mind would drop in a brand new engine and gearbox thats gonna cost you well over 1/2 the price of your car brand new for a mere 30 hp increase?? doesnt make sense!
