MAF cleaning??

I have some MAF sensor cleaner laying around, and it says its safe for plastic, etc, etc, and yes i have read the directions but would i just remove the sensor from the intake and spray it and spray at the throttle body where the intake connects? or? Thats the part i was confused about in the directions. Thanks
