I wonder what the max speed would be for an aveo running the 7 psi and some other mods, and tuned
around 200hp (automatic transmission)
maybe 135 if it holds together?

The max speed of the automatic transmission is about 160mph.
If you have 200hp, you'd be able to go about 140-145mph.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
that would be beast
That calculation was for the 04-06 sedan and 04-08 hatch... They have a coefficient of drag of 0.348. The newer sedan and hatch have a coefficient of 0.326, so theorical top speed is probably a few mph over the older style but nothing to be excited about.

time to chop top :P
The difference between .35 and .33 is fairly significant. For example, the Lanos is .32.. exiting turn 9 at Willow Springs at 85, the Lanos could top out at 105 on the straight.. the Aveo exiting faster at 90 could only get up to 95. Same power, different power delivery (intake manifold is different) but otherwise both only have 105ish HP plus what the intake and exhaust gave them.Originally Posted by thehunterooo
Run your calculations again for the newer model and let us know what you come up with.
Double the boost and give it a nitrous shot. You'll go real fast for a few feet, maybe.
Jim
or blow up into pieces :P
You also have to take into account the frontal area. The frontal area of the Aveo is 23.3 ft2...I believe, but don't have exact numbers of the frontal area of the lanos, that the frontal area is much smaller too (for the lanos). I'll do more research.Originally Posted by subachad

This page has not been updated so you'll need to highlight it to read it... but here is a page I wrote on this about 8 years ago.
