I bought may aveo because i couldn't find a metro that was acceptable. So I'm wondering if anyone here has done a G10 swap into their aveo and if so how well is everything working?

I haven't heard of it being done and I would say there is probably good reason. The Aveo is nearly 500lbs heavier than at Metro and the G10 clocks in at 55hp and 58ft lbs of torque against the Aveo's 103hp and 107 ft lbs of torque. My hunch is if you put a G10 in an Aveo you would have a car that was sluggish to the point of being dangerous and with how hard that engine would have to work, I doubt you would use less gas.

Honestly i didn't think about that. But it makes complete sense.
If you want a car that is most similar to the Metro check out the Mitsubishi Mirage. Similar curb weight and a 3 cyl engine and I believe it get very good fuel economy numbers like the Metro did. Plus it is dirt cheap.
Thanks again. I'm really happy with the Aveo. Sacrificing 20 mpg for something nicer than any metro out there seems obsurd but i felt it wad a good compromise four creature conforts. : D plus i got to join what so far seems to be a wonderful community.
Not to mention we have a phrase here at my shop. "Friends don't let friends drive Mitsubishis" haha
As I'm new the aveo ( had it less than a month.) Lugar stree things to keep my eyes on. What things break soner than others?

Fantastic. That's exactly what i wanted to know. Mine is at 117k miles and I. Going to do the T- belt next pay check. You also answered my question about valve interference. One thing i love about the metro is its non-interference design. Not sure why everyone didn't do this from the start.
