I was thinking about buying a 2.25 straight pipe, and a muffler, some clamps and whatever else i may need in order to get a complete exhaust system. Any thoughts?

You'll probably still want a resonator or two in there, just to cut the noise down a little. I left all the resonators in when I put my new muffler on and it still has a good tone, but doesn't give you a headache on the long trips.
E-Teeecchhhhhhh!!!!!
yeah that was my plan too. thanks a lot
As for as diameter should i do 2 1/4, or 2 1/2, for the noise issue i was thinking 2 1/4
And regarding the company, i was thinking borla

2 1/2 is too big, you'll lose velocity and bog down.
if you were doing all mandrel bent straight pipe 2" would be all you really need, if you were going to replace all the factory pieces and or have crimp bends 2 1/4 is good.. and bigger and youll have issues unless you have other modifications to need that large..
I've tried the Borla, Magnaflow, and Apexi websites, they don't seem to have a 2" pipe..
is there anywhere else that i might find one?

Hey Paul it was aveoforum member g0ast that did his exhaust with a flowmaster series 60 muffler that I thought sounded pretty cool. Heres the Youtube video.

Missing our beloved 1st gen Aveos everyday!
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver!!
04 Aveo (mine gone but never forgotten)
07 Aveo 5 (wifes car gone but never forgotten)
02 Suburban (Eats gas stations as snacks)
12 Cruze Eco 6MT (46mpg daily? Holy crap!)
12 Sonic 2LT (Wifeys new wheels)
Chevoo-1/2 Chevy, 1/2 Daewoo. I mean like WTF?
that doesn't sound too bad,
but im thinkin about getting a straight pipe from dynomax, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-49184/
and adding the flowmaster 60 series to it, it'll work out. Here's the question, full exhaust, or cat-bck?
-Paul
i tried to put a 60 series on my 04 aveo hatch and unless you place it were gOast did the 60 series is to wide to fit in the original location. . . the only other idea was to let it hang lower in the original spot but in my opinion it looks really ghetto. i haven't messed with anything yet, but serega told me that he has a flow-pro twister with a 2 1/4 pipe going back. I've heard it has a low tone and doesn't sound like a little honda farting around.
I'm running a muffler from a Suzuki hyabusa. It cost me $20 and some time. I think it sounds pretty good, it's quiet most of the time but sounds like a crotchrocket about 4500 rpm.
did you ever post a sound clip/video of it rabbit?
