That's why I said " opens can of worms"... I've seen people get to worked up on the subject, though sometimes you will read stuff that will mack you steer clear of a certain brand.... any body have anything bad to say about Royal Purple?

I work for Monroe muffler and brakes and even before there I used valvoline. That's my two cents
I have used Amsoil Signature Series 5W30 and NAPA Platinum filters since new with a 10,000km drain interval since new on my '08 Wave. It uses no oil between changes and cranks over at -40 degrees without being plugged in. I have used Castrol Syn-Tec with success in previous vehicles. As a service manager, I can't say I've ever seen a car in the shop with an "oil failure" related problem. Typically, poor maintenance gets them first.
I'm kinda amazed by this car, it doesn't use any oil that I can tell so far at 108000mo.... kinda like my GEO at 150000mi.
About the same here and I'm at 105k
If I recall , Royal Purple is EXPENSIVE ! Is it worth it ? No Idea .
Mobil makes Mobile 1 , which everyone knows about . They also make a second tier full synthetic . I have used both on our 2015 Sonic .
I have looked at Wally World and Valvoline seems to be the cheapest of the major brand full synthetics . May consider it , at my next oil change ?
Problem I have with synthetic blends , is I have not found a specification for the % synthetic in a blend ?
GM requires Dexos specification oil , which is a synthetic blend . So , I figure any of the name brand full synthetic oils should be even better .
I have ordered filters from RockAuto.com . Cheaper than locally , even with freight , for GM / Delco filters .
God bless
