I was at mall and i started car and check engine light came on and I went to my friend with a obd 2 scanner and he said codes came up were p1781 and p0700. I searched on here and found little about this. When I come to a stop it idles smooth then rough. Please help I dont want to be screwed by a dealer or trans shop.

yea winter garden next to orlando. it has alittle over 80,700 miles. im getting worried because i read about people replacing engines and stuff. i saw on ebay and other sites ecm are cheap and easy to replace if thats issue. i need help badly. i bought this car and later turned out was in accident and horn was not even plugged back in. after purchase i ordered a auto check and said transmission serviced.

Well I typed the codes in and there's actually a bulletin about getting DTCs P1781 & P0700. The Solution? Replace all 16 Valves and valve seals....Sorry dude. apparantly the valves dont seal properly causing a misfire on rare occasions
how much is that to repair?
how long can you drive with that issue? and i saw on other sites it talks about replacing ecm and tcm and wireharness issues. so i am so confused and i got rid of a cadilllac deville 94 to avoid this.
You have to take the head off to do it...I'm gonna say about 10 hours in labor alone..then probably $20-$30 per valve
do a compression test, if it check out, replace the coil pack.

i wasnt reading the codes, i was looking at it seems the car is running, as he was asking about putting off the repair.
it wouldnt run if all the valves need replaced. so checking that with a compression test.
i would like to read the tsb though.
