      Nitrous on the E-tec 1.6

Ok, I'm seriously considering feeding the Aveo with the bottle. I've searched the forums, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive opinion this engine and if a small (40hp) shot on a stock engine is relatively safe.

So, is anybody out there running nitrous on the Aveo? Wet? Dry? Engine mods? What kind of performance can be expected?

Never do a dry shot. Do a wet shot and at a 40 shot youll be fine you dont have to worry

the only person that was ever running Nitrous was rojo( i think that was his name) but he blew the engine up and got rid of the car. it wont be on this site. you would have to search the old forum at aveoclub.proboards26.com

Thanks for that vote of confidence I'll have to dig around on the old board. Any idea what kind of shot he was doing?

I think I'm sold on the NX Stage 1 wet system. Hopefully, I'll be doing a installation how to in a few weeks.

He ran a 75 dry shot with no fuel mods (I remember talking to him about this). If you do a 40 wet shot you should be fine

Ok, well that would explain the engine detonation. Think I'm gonna go ahead and order the NX kit.

You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

And just in case you didnt know... to be more safe get colder spark plugs and you better better better use the highest octane gas available to you at your local gas station (luckily here it's 93 [94 in Lansing], which is much better then the 91 in my old home town of Tulsa)

Yep, definitely going with colder spark plugs and putting on a new fuel filter. I am in the Tulsa area so I know all about the crappy 91 gas. I used to have another car with nitrous and would always dump some octane booster in before a night at the track.
