You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
But I like the preset fuel map!Originally Posted by Audacity Racing

Yeah, I am planning on replacing it, I'm just lazy
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

please explain, as i do not know much about how the different sensors work.

First o2 sensor (in the exhaust manifold) is used by the ECU to determine how much fuel to use... so if there's a lot of o2 left in the exhaust, it knows it's running lean... if there's none, it's running rich... adjusts the amount of fuel being injected accordingly.Originally Posted by mikedudley17
Second o2 sensor (after the cat) lets the computer know if the catalytic converter is working properly.
If the first one fails it falls back on a preset injection map, rather than "intelligently" injecting fuel.
If the second one fails, I believe it does the same thing.

so this preset map is adding more fuel then cus it doesnt really know what to do?

Yup just to be safe. That's why engines are a lot less efficient when one of the o2 sensors is out.Originally Posted by mikedudley17
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
hhhmmm well in that case i would say just leave it broke lol. but unfortunatley emissions will get ya.

trips a CEL. CEL in Va is instafail on inspection =/

I went to Quartermaster Corps MOS/AIT Training in Va. Its a beautiful place.
Unfortunately this training informed us to replace any/all sensors (etc, etc, etc) if broken. (I guess its what you expect to hear when your job is spending Tax-payer's money on auto parts and MREs, but really its not a bad gig...)
It'd probably be better to just get the new one.....Is there any way to program an O2 sensor or the car's computer? If you could, maybe you could program the computer to try and take in more air and less fuel?
Sorry I'm not much help, but I hope you are able to trick and sensor and pass emissions! YAY!
