      I wouldn't go that route.

      • the 16 doesn't have enough displacement to spool up a turbo correctly that is ten feet away.
      • the remote system take up more space than the standard systems and there just isn't enough room.
      • and you are talking a ton of pointless weight it piping.

I think a remote kit would be badass. You could return the car to stock in just a couple hours if you wanted. I tried mounting a td04l where the muffler is, but unless I drilled a hole and put the intake in the car, I couldn't get all the piping to fit.

If you get it done, I am definitely very interested in seeing this.

I'm just doing it beccause its cheap and easy. I have a T4 turbo. Its huge. I placed it where the exhaust pipe connects under the car. the turbo sits about 2.5"-2.75" off the ground with my H&R springs on. this is just a temporary mount for I'm gonna come back later to make the real system set up. I'll post pics later once i'm done.

if it's that low to the ground, the oil return, even with a tight bend (which can put a lot of pressure on the seals and cause it to smoke) will be another inch lower. I'm guessing you are then using a pump to get the oil to go back into the oil cap?

He must not live in an area with speed bumps, pot holes, or snow! But yes you will need to have a pump to bring the oil back up front. I do believe the turbo he is using is too large and he won't be getting any real boost until ~4500rpm+

Lag and boost pressure won't be an issue with proper piping and turbo size.http://ststurbo.com/ is the "leading authority" on remote turbo systems
