NOTE: There is no whine, farting in a can or any high pitched noises you would find on a cheap-o ricer, this is all deep and mellow and most importantly, pretty quiet, its not loud but it's not silent either.

i left ya a comment on youtube lol. overall i like it.

i was reading some reviews on your muffler. alot of people are reccomending heat sheilds. did you put one on?
-
AWESOME!!!! AWESOME!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
-
I read some of that too mike, and yes it gets damn hot.
After some driving I felt some heat in the center, um "bulge", between the front seats, it wasn't hot, just warm. I don't think it would cause any damage because it's aluminum under there, but I'd like to feel safe anyway so...
I'm going to get some insulation for it, there's still enough room between the body and muffler to wrap it, it would also help reduce some of the rattling when the muffler vibrates.

Oh, and here are the under shots, I tried to get them earlier but it's kinda hard getting the angles without a lift, only a jack and stands. The shop I did it at just did an awesome job IMO.

Also, to my folks in AZ, I could set up a time and place if you guys wanna see it in person, we could also do an AZ aveo rally and show off our cars, then parade down streets :D
(I'm kinda serious about the meeting up sometime, mabye at SCO where whiteraven works)

Damn, I want to do that, looks really good man. Congrats. Hit me up for details of where you got it done and how much, etc.
Good job g0ast!! :D

What size pipe did you get?
What kind of resonator is that?
Do you get any raspy sounds at all?
other words, tell us everything about the exhaust haha
I think it actually looks pretty good (probably wouldnt look good on the sedan though), I wish i could see it in person.
good job.
P.S.
Get a Picture of the entire car with the new exhaust so we can get the full picture.

Sounds good. I did hear some popping which could be a pressure issue. What size pipe did you go with?
-
Um lets see...
The Aveo's standard muffler pipe is 1.75" (what the guy told me), he said the widest I *should* go is about 2". If you go 2.25" or any wider, the engine doesn't have enough back pressure and blah blah (I can't remember what he said, he just said something about back pressure).
The tip is 2.25" and he widened the pipe to fit it.
What I found out from the muffler guy is that the Aveo standard exhaust system has 1 cat and 3 resonators, the back muffler (obviously), and 2 in the middle of the car, in the center "channel", I had 1 of those resonators taken out and the muffler, the silvery thing you see in image muff22 is one of the resonators. Where the flowmaster is now is where the other resonator was.
Raspy sounds? I don't think so, I'm not sure what those sound like but I don't think I do, it's just deep and mellow, very throaty. It really does sound great, much much better than I thought it would be.
Here's a full car shot...

I put the muffler on the side because of how it will look when I eventually get a body kit, because it's on the side, I won't have to put holes for the exhaust in the bumper which will make it look cleaner, also I just thought it would look super awesome when I get sideskirts in, and have a hole put in that so all you see is the muffler tip. (Imagine sideskirts kind of like the Xtreme Aveo, but with a muffler hole coming out of it!)
It cost me $270 total, for the muffler, piping, install, all welding and the tip.
And it only took a day for the muffler to come in, so I came in the next day after I put my deposit in.
