P0300 Code along with a check engine light and misfiring after washing engine today..

So I washed my engine at the local "high pressure" car wash today and now its misfiring on acceleration, pulling a code p0300 and the check engine light will flash, other times it stays on continuously, (mainly it flashes though while the engine is running..))

Ive taken compressed air to ALL/MOST of the under hood electrical connections including the plugs, wires, and coil pack however its still acting up.. Figured Id let it sit a bit and hopefully let it dry over night,,,, however that would be doubtful with 0 degrees temperatures over the next 10 days....

Can anyone chime in here please...?? Seeking advice...

I just took the car out after letting it sit for a few hours. Upon starting it, the engine light stayed on SOLID.. As soon as I pulled out into traffic and hit the gas it started misfiring and (backfiring out of the exhaust I think) and the check engine light began to blink...

Early today while troubleshooting----- while the motor was running, I pulled each plug wire one at a time off of the spark plugs.. I could hear the "tic tic tic" coming from the plug boot while it was in my hand so it appears as though they're each getting a spark, its just as if the spark timing is off i guess as the motor is put under a load.

I did replace the water pump, timing belt etc etc 2 weeks ago but the car drove fine until my pressure washing of the motor this afternoon.........

its most likely the plug wires if not the coil pack. They are the only two things effected by water that do what you describe. I wouldn't be touching them while it is running. The have a good jolt, and pulling them while running will cause more problems, codes, etc.

Well 120 dollars later (for a coil pack) and the car is still missing on acceleration and the engine light is still blinking.....

I don't want to pour all kinds of money replacing everything in this car until i hit it correctly...........

if its the same day, and the coil pack is clean, you might be able to return it. If for nothing else you might get store credit.
