      Painting Under the Hood

Just a start to painting under the hood to dress and get it all cleaned up. nothing special just paint at the moment, sure does make a difference. also the wiper arms (front and back) are turquoise, along with the bow ties, and some few parts of the interior trim.(haven't finished yet) such as the gauge rings and small dash trim by the radio.

What paint did you use for the blue on valve cover? It looks like an awesome color!

i hope you used a High Temp paint, or else your engine will slowly but surely cook it off.

mike c06 the paint is valspar paint + primer from lowes. if you want the same color i can get the number if you want.

and this paint is just fine, that engine cover dosent get hot enough to melt the paint off. as a matter of fact i have has the same paint except in white under the hood of my 94 1500 with a 350 never had a problem, had high temp on the valve covers, but air cleaner was all this, never had a problem for the 3 years i had it before i sold it back in march.

and kyo i think you should go with red. i think that would look pretty sweet.

That'd be awesome of you to get me that color code! That paint looks slick as hell!
Might use that on the lettering and the rest of it flat black!

Looks great but spend another 4.25 and get a can of gunk engine bright degreaser. Makes the rest of the bay look better.

Ok ill get you that code later on this morning. And yeah haven't had time to clean it. We just had twins and just the otherday I headed down stairs. I alrwdy had a bottle of wax and grease remover. So I yanked it off, cleanef it with the wax and grease remover. Taped off what I wanted black. Also ifvyou rub the wax and grease remover to long on where the E-tec and where ot says 16v that paint will comevoff real easy I took the paint off on tue 16v but not the e-tec because its just a square. I wish I could make the black on that blue but I can live with it as. it is. If I can get some time soon I'm doing the fuse box cover next. Then I think I'm tonna take the wiper arm motor off and tape it off and paint the cylinder on that bluer (where its black) hopefully ill have time to clean it before then. And mabe power steering cap? Also thinking about the strut bolt cover. That ruber cap. But I'm not sure how long thevpaint will last because its pretty flexible rubber. But there is just one way to tell.
