How do you port your own headers?
Tools?
Noticable gains?

I always just took mine to a guy I know...

i dont know how you could gain much theres hardly anything there....they look alot smaller then the aftermarket one i just bought

If it was any I dont remember since it was one of the first mods I did. So I'd say not enough to make an impact on my memory

Yeah you'd probably have a lot better gain from modding a header then porting the exhaust manifold

i ported the inlets and exhaust on my exhaust header on my matrix xrs and picked up some nice midrange.....granted i already had a cai and catback exhaust.....

but the aveo exhaust header has the catylitic converter built into it, no?

well it is very near the header, not exactly built in

oh....

still, just pop off the header and use the right bit to widen the runner to the stock gasket size. then grind down any sloppy welds on the bottom end of the header.....

thats all i did to mine....gave me some mid-range punch

just buy a header for the d16 off ebay, the porting of the stock header is not going to give you as much of a gain as the new header will.

not as much as people make it seem...if you can weld, you can handle modifying it....plus why waste time modifying the small stock one and gain hardly anything when you can get a better flowing one to modify for 53 bucks shipped?

aveosam i sright, anyone with some fab experience can do this. if you got the tools and the know how it is worth it. if not then fine tweak the stock header. but as i stated you are not going to see that much in terms over power compared to the d16 header.

or you can try and get Brian's

Does anyone make a header that just replaces the stock manifold and just bolts up to the cat converter? How many people have bought the header from PSC Motorsport and how has it worked out? Any issues with the before and after o2 sensors :?:

there are no headers that will bolt up to the stock cat because the cat is like right there
