I found this massive white box on my back porch this afternoon.



Huh, there were two boxes inside of the big box.



Well, looks like Scootaloo's check engine light is about to go away!

If you haven't gotten it by now, RockAuto came to my rescue with a set of Catalytic converters from Eastern Catalytic that were a METRIC BUTT TON cheaper than the Greedy *insert colorful language here*s at GM wanted! $520 shipped to my door! (I also managed to find that RockAuto sold the OEM manifold gasket much cheaper than dealer, but that won't be here until Tuesday) when the gasket shows up, I'm going to write a comprehensive How To guide on replacing the converters on a 09-11 sedan (more than likely, the Hatch will be identical.)

My theory is that the bad downstream oxygen sensor that I had from July 2013 to July 2014 did most of the damage; but the final blow was from my torn intake pipe causing a lean condition, which made the ECM dump fuel in to balance it back out.

Makes sense. Glad to hear there was a logical reason. That doesn't take away your wallet pain though.

Cat just did the same with me, got the 420 code right before inspection, but also i soaked the pcm a couple times from rain before after cutting clearance for turning doing the coilover swap

had I gone to GM for the converters, it would have been MUCH MORE Painful; and to add insult to injury, my Local dealer would have INSISTED on Installing them for me, to the tune of what I paid for the RockAuto converters, which would have pushed my grand total to about 80% of Scoots' current Blue Book Value.
