problems with aveo engine and transmission help

Im having problems with my aveo when i turn it on and leave it on the engine revs up and down alot and the transmistion is hold for a long time before it shifts help me wats wrong with it

your throttle body could need cleaned?

do you have a cel?

maybe idle control valve?. try cleaning the throttle body. idk about the tranny

Idk if I'm even in the right ballpark with this but I have a dodge ram that used to do what it sounds like your car is doing. It would surge at idle or not idle. Like it would basically shut off and then studder and rev back up to like 2000 rpms and just keep doing that. It also would not shift well if at all. It often would try and pull out in like 4th gear or not shift out of second or just act like it was in neutral when it was in drive. As it turns out after months of screwing with it I replaced the ground cable that ran from the ecu to a grounding stud on the front of the block and then to the ground on the battery. The problem instantly went away and its been almost 2 years without a problem. Not saying that's your problem, but if your tranny issues and your engine control issues are related, I'd look for a bad or dirty connection or broken wire.
