pull engine leave trans in car help

I have a 2005 Aveo. I have the head and oil pan off and the pistons and rods are out. I would like to pull the engine out the top leaving the automatic trans in the car. If someone has done this can u please tell me how to separate the engine from the trans while it is still in the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure there is enough room to do this. Its much easier to pull the engine and trans as one.
