anyone know where to get a short shifter?
Yeah, rabbit makes & sells them:

buy rabbits from the link, i think he has some made up right now
I have only one ready to go, the other one I never got the core from...
But I do it on an exchange. I have a buyer for this one I'll take theirs and make another. They are non wearable part of the linkage, but do not come with bushings etc. You reuse yours
i may be interested in the kit, what does it come with?

Just installed rabbit's short shifter. Works great, very happy with it. Did everything from under the car, it was easier that way for me.
Just one thing I'd add to the DIY, make sure the shifter itself inside the car is vertical when you go to tighten the bolt and nut when re-installing the linkage. I let my little one play in the car and he shifted it all the way to the right, and I tightened it that way without checking it... wen to test it out before I lowered the car - couldn't get it into 5th gear as the shifter was too far to the right... Loosened the bolt and had someone hold the shifter in the middle - problem solved.
Besides the shifting being shorter it actually feels tighter, which is what I was looking for....
I think I actually addressed that issue somewhere, because my shifter flopped around too and I couldn't get it in reverse on my first attempt.
Glad you like it, everything feel "tighter" as well? I don't say it will but it seems to eliminate slop in mine, did that happen for you?
I didn't mean for that to sound redundant. Just your impression on how Much the slop was eliminted.
Yes, it did. No more slop. That was a good added bonus to the actual shifter throw being half of what the original one was. It seems like reverse is even shorter than the rest of gears, but that's actually good.Quote:
