Small oil leak garage or home fix

Small oil leak, Should I bring to dealer/garage to fix or is it a fix at home problem?

If at home what is needed?

That looks like a valve cover gasket leak. Last time I replaced one was on a Cavalier and it was pretty straightforward. It's just a matter of disassembling down to the gasket.

as he said, replacing a Valve Cover Gasket is something a DIYer can easily do with a small socket set. have you been experiencing any rough running lately?

It has be running a lot louder that normal as of late. Not cutting out or spluttering just louder. If that makes sence.

Its a piece of cake, anyone who knows how bolts work can do it at home.

Your engine is different, but the procedure will be similar.

You don't need to remove the exhaust manifold or the shield to get it done either. I'd recommend adding a bit of RTV at the sharp corners by the cam gears and half-moon seals to seal things up tight, but its not required.

the main reason why I asked is because when the valve cover gaskets go bad, oil starts seeping into the spark plug tubes, and will go to the point of totally filling the tubes with oil and potentially shorting out the plug wires and plug to where it causes rough running.
