      So, changing the timing belt...

      What can I expect my dealer to charge me?

      Anyone have the chiltons manual for the Aveo? whats involved with changing it?

      dealers here in canada have a special on right now 380.00 CAD + taxes........... man i miss livin in the US lol

      Mine was $260


      Make sure the timing is 100% dead on, otherwise your valves will bend. Thats what happened to me

      you have to remember to mark TDC or yeah your in for some repairs lol

      xstevex - who's your mechanic? I'm in Lansing but I would drive to Muskegon if it saved me a few hundred on a timing belt job.

      Was it $260 because of the extra work involved?


      And how is the job as a DIY project?

      I have full tools and the know how, but maybe its a headache better left to the dealer? if its cheap enough I suppose
