So who is running a turbo on their aveo's here?

Hey guysSo out of curiosity how many of you guys have turbocharged your aveo's? Have you kept the 1.5/1.6 motors or have gone the motor transplant route? Very curious as I'd like to see what power you guys are pushing.What compression standard are the etec motors? 10.5:1?Thanks

One person on here as done a 2.0 swap from a daewoo and turbo'd it, but only had issues and finally gave up on it. Some people around the world have done it but no information can be had. It is not worth putting a turbo in it. There are some swaps going on but nothing complete as of now.

Some of us in the US are held back by emissions requirements, availability of parts (a lot more interchangeable parts are un the rest of the world), and money/time.

Thanks for the replies guys!The stock transmission/gearbox will handle the power, I currently have a opel corsa b 1.3 turbo at home, also known as the holden barina. Its making 130wkw and 240nm at 0.9bar boost. So it is possible and will last! I forgot about the emissions as we don't have it over hear as such. In my case both time and money are hard to come by so its been a budget build from the start! Lol

i am "seeking" a vxr 1.6t and 6 speed with factory locking diff. But its about $10k us before shipping from europe.

I am hoping the chinese buick suv/or car come over with the 185hp version of the 1.6t... but i dont think they will have the diff..

And for the money of that swap, i could put a lot of other things in, but the factory plug and play is nice..

The only problem with the vxr turbo and manifold is that the downpipe sits where the oil filte does on our motors. Which means you'll need a oil filter relocation kit. Hope it helps. That was my plan too as it makes life easier

Hey, Im thinking about putting a sc14 supercharger or a turbo on my 2010 TK barina (or aveo whatever you guys call it). Thoughts? Time and the cash to do it isnt a problem (HEAPS of parts here in AU), just wanna see if anyone else has done this?

Well if its the 1.6 16v you'll have some great power out of it! Friend of mine at 0.7 bar made 150kw out of his motor!
