hey Ferve, congrats on the set up it looks good. Ive got a simple question , did you negate the stock air flow sensor? Im not seeing it in the pic. On an old turbo I had I had to place it between the air filter and turbo inlet. I also have minimal experience with OBD 2 so I am very perplexed, please explain ...
Also just noticed the log style header, although not everybody uses them, I like them for their simplicity, but to each his own. Is it a pure custom piece or a one off...like a flange modification to a Honda piece?? Also who made it, can more be made?
Yes it is a pure custom header specifically made to fit this setup. It was made by the same shop that build the turbo kit for my Aveo, the problem is that the shop is not in the US and you have to bring the car if you want a custom header for your car.
I'm am shure that they are plenty of shops in the US that can make you a custom header, just find someone that really knows how to work with exhaust piping.
thanx for the response. Most shops in my area turn away from street cars and rather work on customers blowing big $ on trailer queens. I got a few DIY fixes in mind for the second gen aveos as do a few other members so Im going to sit tight, once again nice engine bay
Am I nuts, or are you not running an intercooler? I know 7 psi isn't too extreme but I just don't quite see where the pipe is routing.
Fever, I think we all just love your car/setup. I'm starting to gather parts soon, hopefully I can I have it done within the year, my big thing is getting a manifold made, and rigging fuel management. I've seen that people in Europe and Asia run these engines with turbos a lot, and its simpler than the previous plan of a swap.
I love the fact some one has really got a turbo kit on there aveo. I have an 2008 aveo 5. Id love to do something like this. THe biggest problem is the exhaust manifold/ fuel management. I would love to see all the specs on your set up as I think a lot of people on here would.
