but if you went haltech you pretty much can tune the whole damn thing like a dyno tune essentially?

Yes but you have to do more than I know how. Stand alone are amazing, just pricey
I was reading on line yesterday and that apexi is what I came up with as well. I want to turbo my aveo as well just to say its turbo. Nothin crazy big. Usafzac is that pic you posted the set up you have so far? Is that the gt15 turbo?
zac said GT1544 turbo. And i figured with a haltech i would just get it dyno tuned by a shop that knows more than me. How much mpg difference would you predict?
Depends on if you can get your foot off the gas. lol ok so he did get that gt series turbo. I was just wonder if it bolted up to a stock 1st gen aveo manifold. I want to turbo my 08 aveo5 as its not my daily driver. It just sits in my drivier way I lowered it, new sound system, and am titing the windows as soon as summer get here. I'd love to turbo it just to say that "its turbo'd" lol.
I was looking on Daewoo forums and one guy was running a SMT6 piggy back system, I wanted to check it out. I think it would work the best.
so explain exactly what a piggy back system does vs a full haltech
Well a piggy back uses the stock ecu and modified the codes going into it. A full ecu would gives a lot more tuning options, for cams and what not.
Mi think a piggy back system would be the best if we are just running a turbo with 7 psi. It's cheaper if that is all the changing
Got a link to a piggy back system? Are you planning on dyno tuning or street tuning? How many miles are on yours?
I don't have the set up yet I haven't bought anything I've been reading online for a few weeks.
From what I've found the best bet is a blue emanage you can buy them for 300 on eBay. It will do everything you need from what I've read. To turbo our cars it seems pretty easy really, I think you can buy all the parts needed for 1000 bucks then it's just getting it to a muffler shop to do the exhuast after the turbo. I planin starting to buy parts so I can do a turbo car this year is my hopes
I have access to a muffler shop which is why I'm highly considering this. Basically if you get a universal turbo kit with all the lines and an intercooler, a turbo, then it's essentially exhaust work and tuning. But how many miles do you have?
