      I will promise you it was more due to the fact the OEM plugs were in there for a year and a half.

      I just run Autolite Platinums, if you run premium once a month they will clean themselves and last longer. Works fine here in alaska. Just don't buy those E3 diamond fire plugs...Those are complete garbage. Every car is different though, my 87' jetta 1.8T hates platinums, it only seems to run good off Bosch coppers which I hate too lol.

      I definetly wouldn't put the cheap stock coppers back in. I replaced my plugs at 50,000km and found the gap on the old plugs to be .070", the spec is .040". The coopers wear way to fast.

      Turbo cars in general hate platinum plugs.
