Hi xstevex, thanks for your reply.

I know the x16xe piston will not go into 1.4DOHC engine block. Becos the 1.4 DOHC Aveo bore is too small. But the block is the same as 1.6DOHC Aveo. I am planning to drill out he bore of my engine block to 80.0mm. Just thining whether x16xe have same crank shaft and con rod with Aveo 1.6DOHC.

I already found out 1.6Aveo and 1.4Aveo is exactly identical in the engine block with same con rods but different bore pistons and crankshaft only.

From What I gathered yes it will, but Im still not 100% positive.
I believe one of the only major differences is our 1.6 has VGIS, and the x16xe doesnt. But many of the internals will work.

      Have you checked out Daewootech.com?
There are guys on there that know an incredible amount of info on these cars.

Does this mean you are canceling your Aveo project?

pretty much... besides the headers Im getting.

The Aveo doesnt seem like a tuner car, or seem like it will (ever) be a tuner car. If I'm going to be putting big money in a car, I want a car that will look good and go FAST. The Aveo doesnt really look good, and it isnt fast.

Yeah some of you are going to say if you went with the turbo like you were going to do, it would be fast. But turboing the aveo doesnt seem logical to me anymore. im still keeping the aveo. And who knows, after I get my RSX-s, maybe I'll do more NA tuning for the hell of it.

Yah the RSX-S will not disappoint. I think it looks pretty good and its reasonably quick from the factory, and who can overlook the huge aftermarket support. I reflect and re-consider my decisions pretty often, but in the end (at least while I have only one car) I want something more unique that a million other people haven't already done. That and I've already spent more than my car is worth, so there isn't really any point in changing yet lol

k20 = very closed off system.
open it up with some boost and you have easy power
throw some internals and boost it crazy and you have a BEAST for a car

+1, everything u can think of has been done to all hondas/acuras.

I think the aveo isnt meant to do 10 seconds down the strip, but drag racing doesnt take much skill anyway.

I think the aveo is meant for the track, and as long as we can get at least some internal work done, we could become good competititors with a little suspension work....
