correct, they are plastic, i had a ls and was just about ready to run a 75 shot of nos in it before i traded it in. There is one guy that did blow it but that is because he was at the drags and did not have a windows switch (not to smart) so he sqeezed to early. looked like a firball.hehe anyways there should not be an issue with the manifold because with a turbo set up you are not going to see any real boost untill the mid RPM range. a supercharger would work as well, but i dont think i would run it at very high boost. I have been contimplating running a 50 shot in our aveo, i think it can be done. i might be working on this soon. i will keep you guys updated

Just give the Hamster in the crank case a red bull you will get all the boost you need.
You did WHAT? to your Aveo? HAHAHAHAHA

It seems that it would be easier to supercharge a Aveo than turbo. I found these units that have a rear intake and side discharge which would be a low profile. A aftercooler could be run in front of the radiator.

hmm... ease, not sure. I've turboed quite a few cars, never wasted time throwing a S/C on. Manifold isn't hard...

what are you guys worried about if we are the ones building it? let us do all the "hard" parts and you guys do the easy part - drive.

How about a slight update from the hampster.

Go on eBay and search for "Aveo supercharger."

You'll get a listing of an intake pipe with a 12 volt blower fan and cone filter.

      $160 U.S. well spent!

if find an M45 from a slk 230 there's an electronic clutch.
You could have the supercharger only come on when you felt like a little extra punch.
And if your managment has an input to switch programs you're even better off.
Gas mileage when you want it with fun at the flip of a switch. Like NOS with an infinite bottle.

Centrifugal blowers are nice and small if mounting space is your concern they however don't boost quite as low in the RPM as a roots or twin screw (lysholm) setup. Still worth looking into.

used blowers from older GM product can be had relatively cheap. From bonnevilles, GTP's. I think earlier 90's models have M62's and late 90's into the 2000 are M90's.
