Taking out the front muffler/resonator???

Hi everyone!

I'd like people's opinions on the removal of the front exhaust muffler/resonator.


It's item #7 in the attached picture. I would only remove the round muffler and replace it with a straight pipe. I would still keep the muffler that is at the back of the car.

I know most people just replace the muffler closest to the back of the car.

Would taking this first muffler/resonator give the exhaust note a different tone?

Has anyone done this?
