Hi! I Have A 2005 Chev Aveo and I Want To Change Timing Belt and Water Pump. I Read That You Can or Should Change The Idler and Tensioner Pulleys To Metal Ones. Where Can I Buy The Kit/or The Metal Pulleys?

Hey there!
Unfortunately, it won't make much difference if it's made from metal, as it's not only the plastic that degrades, but the bearings as well.
To my knowledge, the bearings in a metal pulley might even degrade faster from the extra force exerted on them (metal being heavier than plastic).
It's unfortunate but true that our e-tec II's aren't very nice when it comes to part lifespan... The only parts to my knowledge that would be worth swapping for metal are intake hose and thermostat housing.
Best of luck to ya bud!
I Think The Metal Surface Would Not Absorb The Heat That A Plastic Surface would, hence the plastic or composite material degrading untill it shatters or cracks. Can you buy the metal pulleys?
