yeah the resistor part is true, its a box for a reason....theres no magical chip in it, probably a resistor with wire and some electrical tape inside of it, either that or its a circuit board with one resistor on it so it looks like they knew what they were doing.

this might be good tho if you have a manual trans.

it works well for me in my automatic i have nice proven results on it on the 1/4 mile, just the loss of third gear means i only run it when im planning on racing

yeh and thats good, the fact that its only a resistor and its a cheap mod makes it better. but im sayin that with a manual you cant loose a gear cus your in control so it would be a definite plus that way. i dont have an auto but isnt there still a way to put it in the gear you want? i might just build my own resistor box and put it in. we'll see.

yeah i think i put that on another post that it would probably yield better results with a manual

Dont waste your money on those things man like i said you can reproduce these for 90 cents, why pay 40-50 buks, i tried it and i know, i even bought more then 1 cuz i tried one on my 1st car.

They dont work, they will only make your car guzzle more gas, your wayyyyy better off to get the intake redone for 50 buks then spend it on a resistor.
