      Throttle Body Issues??

Has anyone here had any throttle body issues with their Wave or Aveo? I have 87,000 km on my 2007 Wave and just had the throttle body replaced for the 3rd time. The frustration is killing me...even moreso now that my warranty is expired and I took an $800 hit on this last repair.

Throttle bodies going bad isn't unheard of. 3 in that short of a time seems rediculous. I know I have one from my 07 engine I've been trying to sell for a while, but nobody seems interested.

I have an 07 Wave as well, with over 105,000km on it. No issues with mine.

What issues have you had with your car? My list is almost too long.

I've replaced (both sides) ABS speed sensors, oil pressure sensor, alternator, both front wheel bearings, left front axle shaft, subframe, both front control arms & bushings as well as both front sway bar links.

YIKES! How many of those repairs were covered under your warranty?

I've replaced the ECM, wiring harness, thermostat, had a faulty coolant resevoir hose (with a coolant leak that still can't be found), oil pressure sensor, and 3 throttle body repalcemnents.

Do you have the Wi model too?

Yup I've got the Wi model (came with an iPod ). The only thing covered under warranty I believe were the ABS sensors. Now it's over 5 years old so warranty is done. Recently I've had my timing belt replaced. They pressure tested the system and found a coolant leak from the water pump's O ring. Replaced that before they put it back together and everything checked out.

Ya...my Wi came with the iPod too.

I got in touch with GM Canada and they helped me out as much as they could with the multiple throttle body replacement issue. Being that I had already paid for the work to be done, all they could do was send me a $200 service voucher which was still appreciated. I'm just frustrated because no one can figure out why my car has this problem and, now that I have no warranty left, I can't afford for the dealership to change expensive parts just based on what they think may fix the problem. I'm losing faith in GM these days which is sad because they're the only company I've invested in since I've had my driver's license.
