      Timing Belt check

      Hey,

So I got 106,000KM. Unsure if the timing belt was changed before I bought it back in August with 70,000KM. Is there anyway I can open it easily to check? Mind you it's winter time here but I can use the shop at school if I need too. I just need to check to see if I'm still good to go for a bit.

They tend to have printing on them you could check to see if you can read it and if it's oem or not by the brand.

70k km is under the change though? It's 60k miles or @ 100k km?

I highly doubt it was changed.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

Well, it was a lease return from another province so it's gonna be difficult to get a hold of the GM dealership down there and figure out if it's been changed or not. So how could I go about doing a quick check? I don't know what I need to do to check it, but I need to do it soon. I'll put on 1,000KM this weekend most likely.

the only way to try is to see if you have a non oem brand belt in there. pull the cover off, and look at the belt.

If you're concerned, just have it changed

Is there a guide to pull off the cover? And yeah, I am concerned but I don't have the money to get it changed right now. I'm almost to 109,000KM
