      Timing Belt Compont Kit for 2009 Aveo ? When do I have to change it ?

      Good day to all I have a 2009 Chevy Aveo and I am at 80,000 miles and I have been told I need to have the timing
      belt changed and while I am in there I need to change the water pump and componts in that.

      I can do this but , Money is tight but will be even worse if the engine blows up.

      How long has these lasted and what happens when the belt breaks ?
      is there any warnings the engine will let you know before it breaks ?
      I found a kit on EBAY for $66.00 has any one bought an EBAY timing belt kit ?

      Please help me with this as I need some.

      There is no warning sign of a bad belt and no one can say how long a belt will last. The recommended replacement is 60,000 miles so at 80,000 miles you are now running on borrowed time. It would be wise for you to get it done in the very near future because if the belt snaps you will be paying a lot more in repair costs due to the extensive damage that it will cause. Also there is the inconvenience of not having the vehicle due to the extra time required to repair the vehicle.

      I had my checked out while I was at the dealership around 70K miles and they said it looked perfectly fine. I am now at 79K miles and after seeing thousands of incidents with these belts (that should have been recalled at this point) spontaneously combusting and ripping apart engines, I intend to have it replaced soon. I have read from other posts that this has to be done by the dealership due to some tool that is required to remove the belt. Is this accurate?

      This is incorrect. The OP says his aveo is a 2009. The Timing belt service interval is 100,000 miles, and they arent known for going early

      80 000 km = 50 000 miles Service timing belt needs to be changed, or when connection is broken piston will meet with the valve when replacing the timing belt change and tension roller pump. all good

      Pickles you are right.....I quickly saw there location Villa Rica thinking it was outside of the U.S. with the EtecII engine.

      Not score EtecII. What engine you, B12S1? F14S3? F14D3? 15S3? A16SMS?
      If 15S3? 1.5-liter, then put Naden components.
      Example: belt, pulley, and the pump

      No info on my question? Does this have to be done by the dealership? I have a 2007 Aveo5 which has scheduled replacement at 60K miles.

      In azavisimosti on the type of engine,
      After 60,000 km belt necessarily need to change, you can yourself, it is possible for the service.
