Transmission issue(?)

Hello!
I have a 2004 Hatchback and since I got it I've noticed something with the transmission..
When the car shifts from 2nd to 1st, if I don't slow down enough, the transmission will *thud* when going back up to 2nd.
If I take the car down to about 15mph before speeding back up, it doesn't do it.
Generally, I'm just careful to hesitate a moment before speeding back up, but I'm just curious if it's something that can be remedied.

I just hit 150k. Fluid level is good but I'll have to verify the quality

Both of our 06's did something wonky like this when we first got them on the road. I also noticed the car would lurch at idle while in gear. On a hunch I flushed both transmissions with fresh fluid and they have shifted great ever since. So +1 on fluid check, it does not last forever!
