If you've ever changed a trans on a car before the Aveo won't be much different. There really isn't anything special about it.

Some of the wires & vacuum lines on top of the engine are really short. Watch them carefully when you lower the engine, if you're not pulling both. Also, I found it a lot easier to have a hoist on the engine, instead of two floor jacks, when it came to lining them up for the re-install.

Thanks guys! 10 hrs later, a few scraped knuckles and it's done. It wasn't easy but it wasn't too difficult either. 3 tries on the linkage but we got 'er finally. Anyway, I really like this car so I hope I don't have any more problems with it. Perhaps come summer maybe I'll "trick it out". We'll see. Thanks again. Jim

Glad you got the job done successfully. Did you just replace the clutch and bearings?

yes I did replace the complete clutch assembly also. My mechanic helper put it this way, "pay a little more now or a lot more later." 'Nuff said. Merry Christmas everyone.
