What year is your car? If it's a 2004 to 2008, and you haven't done the timing belt in the last 60,000 miles, you're due. Make sure you do the entire kit while you're in there, which includes the belt, idler parts, water pump and all seals. Often, its not the belt that breaks on Aveos, it's something else that fails causing the smashing of valves and pistons.

The copper sparkplugs don't last very long in these cars, but good news is they're cheap and easy to do.

Check condition of your serpentine belts. Do a visual inspection of all your fluid levels and their condition. Change your air filter.

If your asking, have a shop replace the timing belt. It can be done, and there is a right up on the forum of how to do it. But one wrong thing can set you back and potentially damage your engine.

Yeah I think it's worth while to learn how to do this. It's not hard. Just need to be careful with procedure. If you don't replace the water pump easy. If you replace it, it's way harder. The slickest trick is using zip-ties to lock down the cam shaft pulleys. An other member posted that short cut.

So if you have don't other repairs, then it's worth while doing.
