lets just wait to see if all the parts from a 1.4t from the cruze can be put on our cars, and then plug in the computer, and get a tune..

I agree, it's not hard to install a turbo, to me I'd rather turbo it than swap engines, u swap the engine u got to modified quite a bit of stuff, the turbo is basic bolt on and retuning. Supercharging maybe a option too. We don't have emission testing in AR thank God, so we would be fine with whatever we do. If u have emission I would leave it alone even a CAI would make u fail the visual inspection.
why super over turbo? isn't turbo typically better?
output-wise, yes turbo's are better. I prefer superchargers. I love the whine that never gets old (whereas the typical turbo whistle will eventually grind on your nerves). Turbo-humpers will usually go "but it takes torque to make the power hurdur". But the fact remains they're usually strapped to torquey engines to begin with so torque to run them isn't a problem. And unlike a turbo, they're cheaper to modify. Just drop a pulley size for about $300 and you can make as many gains as you would with $1000 spent on a turbo set up. While the initial cost of a supercharger is about the same as a typical turbo set up, Superchargers are cheaper in the long run both to modify and keep up maintenance with. And I can't stand dealing with lag. I love how supercharged cars just rear up and snort power on command when you jump on the throttle.
It's more a preference though. I prefer power on command rather than an engine that tries to kill me when the boost hits full force in the middle of a corner. The reactions from turbocharged and supercharged engines are different. One of the few turbocharged engines I like is GM's LNF due to how tame the engine feels.
To put it simply.
Supercharged cars are like dogs. reliable and usually trained to follow a command without question.
Turbocharged cars are like keeping a pet tiger. Great for a while, but it will eventually bite your head off.

according to the article in superstreet you can swap in a 2.0 supercharged from gm, with labor and parts, and a bunch of other stuff, making 298hp, for 7-8k
