turbo charging, engine swap or engine build up

Okay so i posted an earler thread about what it takes to turbo charge the 1.6. Now i have really been thinking about this and i really wanna do this but im not sure what to do. Now i know that there is 2 options i can either engine swap or build up the motor to hand the boost that i want. So long story short what is better to do and if engine swap is best what motor fits the aveo. I have been wondering if the cobalt motor will or not. So i need some info but in the mean time i will search online and do some looking myself but i would really like some help from the people that have done this. the more info the better.

The Cobalt engine will not fit without extensive modifications. Your best bet is to try to get your engine built up. The only engines that could readily be used ,in America, is the 1.8 or the 2.0 from an early 90s Pontiac Sunbird, or the 2.0 from a Suzuki Reno/Forenza. You could have one shipped from Europe. Practically any Vauxhall/Opel/Daewoo engine will fit without major modifications. They have some pretty good performance engines over there. C20XE, C20LET are good engines you could use.

Not being negative, but there is only a handful of people who have gone through with any sort of turbo/engine swap (a lot of people want to do it like you, or wanted to, but never do anything with it).

Your best bet is to contact the guys in Cali for them to do the cobalt SS swap for you if you have the money.

Or if you stick N/A, then you will just need a bunch of custom parts made and a new transmission possibly.

If you turbo, talk to neme, though he will agree with me I think

You have a lot to learn

2007 Chevrolet Aveo - Super Street Magazine

I talked to him quite a while ago, the car is for sale, and he has the mounts/able to do the same with any aveo. If you are any sort of serious about doing any major work, this would be the best route I think, for the money.

He was on this forum a few months ago (there is a big thread about the car for sale on here) and you could probably Google the shop and his email/phone number should come up.
