now that i think about it, i believe this dude has a bad rep on daewootech as well(maximum boost). i knew it sounded familiar tho. props to aveoRS for getting it in successfully tho, hope he has many happy days with it. will be interesting to see how the aveo motor holds up and seeing as im not the only guinea pig anymore, i will def. need updates from chevyaveoRS as to any probs and such. thanks denis!

      BTW, where is chevyaveoRS?

      Re: TURBO IS FINALY AVAILABLE

hey guys sorry couldn't post earlier really busy with work and its taking a toll on me.
the turbo kit is everything from maximum boost. Unfortunately i have not heard for them until recently so I had no experience with them what so ever. regarding the arrival of parts and what not everything seemed to be there. Im not so much of a big car guy so i had a local shop i know install it for me. When all said and done it cost about 5200CND installed not bad. This includes the kit, intercooler, delivery, customs, and labour. Now the mechanic "Alex" said he put it at 5psi. I have no idea if its true or not but he did say any more would kill the engine at this point because of its weak starting point. basically the 1..6L isnt meant for turbos. Also unfortuanely I own a stupid automatic. So it could really do its toll. Speaking of that though. Recently on teh highway i noticed my car jerks quiet alot when shifting and it redlines for quiet a bit before it shifts. Definatelly not healty. I talked to Alex and he said teh turbo shoudl eb removed asap until we figure out a solution for the tranny.
Apparantly the utomatic transmission cant shift fast enough when boost kicks in and it redlines quiet a bit which doesnt make sense but whatever.
So the turbo has to be taken of until a new solution can be coem up with or i coudl have seriosu problems.
Lets say i tried failed but still trying. One solution Alex suggested was a Chevrolet Optra Manual Transmission Swap whcih is wat Dennis suggested as well.

This though costs baout 4000-5000 to do. Which i cant afford at this moment.

Im wrking liek a mad man so i might be able to get oen hopefully by winter unless anoehr idea pops up.

regarding teh turbo kit from maximu boost though everything came and it was a perfect install except the intercooler
the inside of the bumper had to get shaved to make room. Thats about it.
it was a good 5 days i enjoyed a boosted aveo but unfortunately ist too much too soon.

Ill keep u guys posted as soon as i try again so dont sweat.

I had the same prob to with the bumper, but if you do it right it wont be that noticeable. mine is kind of noticeable right now, but i hvent gone out and tried to really clean it up to as near perfect as i can get. hence why im also looking into designing and fabricating a full lip kit for the aveo. but as my thread in the exterior section states, i need approval from "the management."

mine isnt to noticable unless you really focus on it but just looking at a glance you couldnt tell. But im still pissed off about my tranny and having to remove the kit after only 5 days. AGH.

it takes alot of time and tuning and such to get it right. ive nearly had mine on 2x already but we keep running into small glitches that could later end up hurting my car so i have to keep taking it back off. its alot of work to tear the car apart and such to only find out that you have a new prob and you need to do some more r&d to get it right. i know how you feel.

Hey RS, good work sorry I haven't been on for a while to keep up with this stuff. at any rate I might have a solution with the tranny and you wont have to take out the turbo...unless it's already been done.

one of my customers (and soon to be supplier for LSD's) specializes in this auto tranny. the automatic is actually stronger than most of the 5-speeds that you could install.

I'll find the guys info and your machanic can talk to him. by the way when you talk to him let him know that you have the 4T-40E transmission. I'll PM you with his email address.

      Garrett
