maybe the internals can take it...but the clutch pack might not have enough fluid pressure to keep it from slipping.

nah, if it's rated at 200+ (I think it's actually higher) then that is what it will take before failure of any kind.

the ratings like that are just to let you know how much power you can run through it before any type of failure, that doesn't mean the tranny will blow apart if you set over the line with power.

there are a lot of people running more power than the D16 tranny is supposed to take and they last a while.

AveoRS, thanks for the heads up. I have an automatic, and it is good to know.
The Turbo kit is awesome, I think, if one has a standard, and the money to buy and install it.
As I don't really have a need for turbo or any of that, it isn't for me.

But it is good to see that you are looking out for us, and letting us know that for automatic owners this could become an issue.

so in other words, us auto users are screwed with: a) no turbo will cooperate under our hood b) to get a turbo we need an engine swap and c)....i dont have a c.

but did i hit the mark?? just checking so i dont waste $3000+ buying/installing turbo.

If you want a faster car, the aveo is not the way to go. Just accept its reliability and efficiency and if you want a turbo then get a cobalt, srt4...ect.

      banned*

I'm sure theres a few fast aveo's, or fit's, or sub compacts in general out there but the money invested equals that of a factory tuned car with the same numbers.

if done right, the power to weight rato could be amazing for this car. plus it would make a beautful sleeper.

melficer-the auto can be turboed, but it seems you would have to spring for a good engine management unit and do lots of dno tuning.
