Turbo kit price
So, im just wondering. Is it normal, cheap or costly to get a
turbo kit for about $2.6k ? The kit consists of -
Turbocharger, Exhaust Manifold, K&N Air Filter Kit, Alloy Intercooler and silicone hoses, Hot Bits Turbo Exhaust System, AXT Blow off valve.
And im also wondering, is it possible to use a turbo kit for suzuki swift
or honda jazz on aveo? Silly question, but just wondering :)

That sounds expensive to me, that kind of money should by a car specific kit with matched tuning.
You can attempt to use kits for other cars, but the cost of adaption etc, makes a lot of a "kit" useless. You could just piece together your own kit, using a "real" kit as a basic shopping list. But its an undertaking, d0 you have an installer? are are you planning on learning as you go?

That sounds a little expensive to me as well for those parts only, but that also depends on the brand and type of turbo you get in the kit, is it an ebay $150 turbo or a Garrett $8-1000 unit? Wheres the wastegate? Intercooler and piping is just that, it doesn't matter if it's ebay or made of gold.
Doesnt seem like theres any sort of engine management either. Wideband? Injectors? Wiring? etc etc
You will need a clutch to hold the extra power, the stock one is no good.
Your local exhaust shop can fab you a custom exhaust for a few hundred bux. What does that manifold look like? Is it made for the 1.6 or you need to modify it to fit? Hmmm even with a high quality brand name turbo, that's outrageous at that price!
My entire kit with engine management, injectors, wideband, clutch, all the required stuff to make everything work, was under $2000 (granted i got a hell of a deal on the wideband, wastegate and bov) but still you should be able to assemble a much more complete kit for 2.6k
Thats just my opinion tho.

Thanks for your opinions. I thought about the other parts that arent in the
kit and yeah i agree that it would cost alot to get the kit and other parts
needed to make it work. What about a T3/T4 hybrid turbo? I found one for
$300. Is it the right price? And did you custom the parts to fit in your car?
Aftermarket parts are so hard to get for this car.
-
In my opinion, when it coms to turbo kits, 95% of the time its completely custom to make it fit your car.
Depending on the car the most common "bolt on" part is the turbo manifold, we don't have that luxury tho so i welded a standard T3 flange to the stock manifold and the turbo bolts to that, i use a small oil pump to push the oil back into the oil pan. Doing it that way is still 1/2 the price of getting a one off tubular manifold custom made.
The real custom work comes when you have to plumb the charge piping and fit the intercooler.

turn around and run while you can :D
-
actually xiogary makes a turbo manifold for the aveo.. $400 range i think. And hes in singapore which helps the op.
-
Did he make one? If not, he has the short header which allows you to add on to it and make your own with ease, xaio could maybe fab one up as well if he didnt already do it.
-
I didnt know he made a turbo manifold. Im still trying to get a header from
local guys as it is cheaper and faster to get. If i cant find one ill just get
from xiogary.
