      turbo manifolds for everyone!...

      ... well close enough.

I'm working on an adapter plate to mount a turbo to the OE 1.6 manifold. after messing with the 1.6 for a while I realized that the design is pretty good, a bit small for the ID but well designed.

I'll have an adapter for the Garrett T25/T28 and T3, Mitsu T25, and soon the K3 and K4 turbos.

let me know what you guy (and girls) think. this would make a 'turbo manifold' very cheap at only $75.

      CHEERS!

ceramic coated? and these are only stock headers with an adapter plate?
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

for as small as the adapter is there is no need for ceramic coating but it would hurt. these will just get a mild polish.

and yes in an attempt to bring the turbo kit to the Aveo market with less hassle and smaller budgets this kit would use the OE manifold. this would in affect be a 'stage 1 turbo kit' not intended for huge HP numbers.

perhaps I sould clarify a bit. the adapter by it's self and no other mod (internals) it's safe for 7-10 psi at the stock 9.5:1CR and upwards of 160bhp. the adapter is good for as much psi as yo ucan push from what ever turbo you use.

I was refuring to it as a 'stage one' kit because its a good start for anyone whating to to turbo. a tube style would be in order if you were going 'full build' with 8.5:1 and 230bhp+.

like I said, the OE manifold is a really good design and flows well. this setup could handle really nice hp numbers before needing a tube style.

      • there are plans in the future for a ram horn style turbo header that would be an upgrade from this. basically you can use the adapter, build and run a turbo system and later upgrade without having to change anything.
