      turd with a/c on

don't know if this is a normal thing but whenever I turn my a/c on my car is the biggest turd Ive ever drove. I pretty much have to have it floored to get it going from a complete stop. anybody have this problem and have a quick fix idea. thanks

Its a 4 cylinder, that's how most are. No real way around it other than increasing the HP or turning the ac off when accelerating

Yes, that's how most 4 cylinders are. I second the advice about turning the A/C off while accelerating.

Short of that, trade it in for a Corvette...

Under drive Crank Pulley will make a difference. Put one on my 04' and she honestly got a little more pep in her step. Better MPG also. Slows down the A/C Compressor, Alternator and Power Steering.

Back in my Racing days, my street 4.3L S-10 before I swapped in a 6.7L I had the A/C Clutch and a few other stupid things beautifully wired into a Wide Oped Throttle relay. Hit Full Throttle, Stuff turns off. It's easy if you're good with electrical.

i removed my power steering to counter the ac. it helped. not an option for most people though.

but yes the ac drains power. but you live in a flat state. you should try going up one of my local streets with the ac on..

the ac is programmed to switch off at wot.

I had the same problem, looked it up you need to take it to dealer and there is a recall they will replace your ignition plugs and coils, also reprogram the ecm. Problem is bad when its hot outside, after I had mine looked at it seems to have fixed the problem.

that was Recall 11273, this little recall has been VERY Well Covered here. and Dgoody, our Cars only have 108HP, and as Pickles said, the only way around it is to either increase the HP of your engine, or Turn the a/c Off when you need more power.

I have had the recall takin care of. I guess I was just expecting a little more out of this engine. my old civic had a 1.6 sohc engine and it was way more peppier than the ol aveo. oh well guess its just difference in manufactures. time for some more performance upgrades lol

I know this is an old post, but Rabbit do you know if the aveos have a fixed orifice tube or a variable tube? Variable tubes are pretty much like tvx valves and are supposed to help with fuel economy by not loading the system as much. If they come with a fixed tube I may change it out with a variable.
