i dont see how a lighter flywheelgives you power. The flywheel is just a weight disc that keeps the crankshaft turning smoothly.
--edit--
Heres a helpful article. http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/flywheel/h ... _works.htm
In an all moter car it would help out a lot, but a turbo is still gonna give a better performace boost.

The reason sportbikes and Ferrari's rev crazy fast is because they have lightweight flywheels. Your torque (force applied to ground) may not be any higher, but your HP for sure will be!
What are somethings that will help increase torque a little bit cuz we are way low in torque.
That doesn't mean anything...
"Fast" race cars are always low on TQ... the WTCC Daewoo has about 150 ft-lb of tq, but nearly 300hp.
You just need to learn to put your foot down and rev a little

I like were this is going here but i have a few questions that maybe you guys will be able to help me with. I was concidering purchasing a short block and upgrading the pistons and rods if possible but is there and after market crank availble? Also would the best route for the head be to purchase a Lanos head and upgrade it with a cam kit of some sort, and of course use the intake from the lanos.
i didnt think the lanos heads would work and i dont think there is an after market crank available thats specificaly for the aveo.....i dont think but there might be for something that is close to the aveo that could work.
the lanos head will work...plus youll get the metal intake mani...its the lanos intake mani that wont work with out the lanos head
Sweet that is what i thought. Do you know if there is anything that can be done to the bottom end?Originally Posted by AVE0SAM
