What is the blue fuse on the battery??.

Hello,
is there anybody out there whom might know what the blue fuse looking box on top of an 2010 chevy aveo??.. It looks like an fuse or breaker and dont know what it protects. Can it be replaced also?..

That is the main 100 AMP Fuse for the cars entire electrical system, and yes I'm pretty sure it can be replaced.

However, if you blow that fuse there's a fatal problem with your car. I guess it's also a potential emergency disconnect in the event of a short to prevent a fire if need be.

Its called a block fuse.. its for the entire electrical system.. if you have tried to boost the battery and put the cables on backwards it will blow this.. it costs about $45 CDN and you only get them at the dealer. If this blew.. more fuses probably blew including your BCM module controlling aux power and wipers etc..
