What year is your Aveo? It looks like where the PCV is, but I don't recall ever seeing a tube that sticks up...

you wont build pressure as you have a leak, that looks like some kind of canada emissions maybe? (ive seen lots of engines and not that pipe /hose) where does it go? the hose looks to be too big, and whats under the zip ties?
its almost looks like someone routed a "catch can" into the valve cover for the hose that travels across the valve cover right there.

I think it might be the pvc or the hot air tube Y.

maybe a bigger top shot of the valve cover to see it better.

I dont know about the canada versions, but on my 04 that is the area where the PCV is. My PCV broke yesterday. their is a vacuum line that goes straight up then curves to go to the intake tube, the PCV (on my 04) points straight back with a vacuum line that runs from the PCV to the backside of the throttle body. If the vacuum line nipple that comes straight up to go to intake tube is broken or the famale threaded portion of the PCV is broken, you will need a new valve cover or what GM calls the composite cam cover

Just FYI, GM eliminated the pcv system on the Aveo in 06. To me that would be the pcv that is broke or the valve cover.

Well then I may not have that part on a 08 hatch. in the first post I said pcv lol so I guess in canada I would not have one.Attachment 3946
