What is the difference between e-tech ii and ecotec for chevrolet aveo?
What is the difference between e-tech ii and ecotec for chevrolet aveo?
I was curious about this at first too. I did some research and found my information via the links below. I don't like the fact that the "e-tec" name infers that it is a shortened name for the "eco-tec" to the uninformed consumer, which is a more recent and superior engine.
The E-tec II is a GM Family I engine and the Eco-Tec II is a GM Family 2 engine. Info below.

The eco-tec is just a newer engine design with more technology built into it. When I got my 2005 Aveo I was pretty surprised at how little technology it had. No variable valve timing was probably the biggest thing. The e-tec II's compression ratio of the engine is also pretty low compared to the eco-tec at 9.5:1 vs 10.8:1. The eco-tec is also a much more efficient engine as you can see from the mpg ratings of the 1st vs 2nd gen Aveos.
Okay now I have an Idea about the E-TECH II VS ECOTEC
WHICH OF THOSE 2 ENGINE IT HAS MORE HORSE POWER E-TECH II OR ECOTEC?
So that's mean that ECOTEC is not on 1.6L version anymore?

Horsepower ratings do change slightly from year to year.
which one is ZERO CLEARANCE ENGINE or are they all..LXV..LXT
Its possible, but would be TONS of work. The engines are very different, have different wiring, etc.
The Etec II is a Korean Daewoo engine thats very simple and very long lasting, the Ecotec Is German built Opel engine of the same displacement and relitively same horsepower with a lot more annoying electronic gadgets waiting to let you down. (Surprise a German engine that's over engineered right?)
