stock exhaust with WRX muffler. Got rid of the valve clatter at the upper RPMs, not really much for power but a little better sound and smoother through redline. Sound is actually pretty damn good with the modified airbox.
I replaced the muffler with a piece of pipe.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
Shouldn't you be able to get more power and acceleration?? let's restate this question... what kind of muffler do you have? and can you tell a diffrence?

Yes I can tell a difference, but it's not much. I tried removing the two resonators and took it to the track (willow springs) and well, the car was still slow, but much louder. That does not follow my walk softly carry big stick attitude, so the resonators went back on.Originally Posted by lowaveo17
if you want to go faster with exhaust. romove the old pipes completely. they are 1.75 or 1.85 inches. and get 2-2.5 inch pipes. this will allow better airflow thus improving speed. i went 2 inches and i gained some in the lower rpms.
2-2.5 would make you lose low end hp not gain, its ay to big for our lil 1.6 unless you turbo itOriginally Posted by melficersx
Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, rather than drive a fast car slow!
so is it worth it, or no?

on the old forums, someone gained 10hp to the wheels with a cold air intake and an exhaust job. I think it's worth it.
